Creno, Elthas and Sabatykos. by jotham-the-dark
Creno, Elthas and Sabatykos.
Hello everyone.  I been on a drawing binge lol.   Trying to knock out several more sketchbooks this year.  Already knocked out one.  Here is a study I been doing of late based on noir artists like Frank Miller.  I'm still learning the style so don't hate on me too much.  PLEASE!!! :D   Just kidden give me whatever love or hate you guys need to.  I can take it :D .  This is new renditions in the Frank Miller style of Creno Valour, Elthas Belthasar and Sabatykos Maelstrom.  Note EVERYBODY has undergone some sort of a significant character appearance change.  Yes Creno DOES look like Marvish.  I was going for that! Anyway, I hope you guys will enjoy this piece and the rest that I will post later today.

This is my own rendition of the DBZ character named Raditz.  Or Raditzu.  (In Japanese version) It's still kinda sketchy and I have to perfect the look of him, but he's getting there.  I'm gonna continue to draw him as I go so I can get the uniform base appearance correct.   It was a lot of fun drawing him.  I've done two drawings of him so far and one is even MORE of a realistic version.  I'll be uploading that one soon too.  Enjoy.

Journal History

Yeah I just posted some current work for my fans.  Sorry I haven't been uploading so much of late, my sincerest apologies.  I have been drawing of course, just not able to scan stuff so easily.  I have to use my webcam.  I'm gonna invest in a flatbed scanner at some point, it's just gotta wait until I can afford one :) .  Either way, I updated with a small batch of stuff I been working on.  As always, commentary is appreciated.  Anywhere I can improve upon for future drawings would be good advice as well.  I'm trying to go pro, so anybody who wants to do projects together, do let me know.  I am available for commissions, and I also am available to do art trades.  Let's do this!!!

~Blessed be.

I am doing a Watcher's feature journal.
All of my watchers can feature two of their works and I will put them in my journal for June.

Heya! Thank you for the watch - I appreciate it! You have a lot of great work here; I like the focus on anatomy. It reminds me that I need to get back into anatomy-practice every day. :3

Yeah I've been trying to improve my basic drawing skills. I draw fairly often now, and I upload my work in the sketches phase. It's only recently that I started to really try to finish art so I can post them in a more final format. I got a few finished drawings up. All in all Lumaris, I really like your art style too. Keep up the good work!

See the main problem with freehand is that I tend to make a -lot- more mistakes when I attempt that. I prefer to draw using charts because the charts is how I learned to draw in the first place. I think the charts are important because it helps you keep your chosen subject in proportion. When you are drawing poses you can deviate from the basic proportion charts considerably, but all in all, I stick to the charts. I am a very messy artist with or without charts, but I keep my mistakes. I have a lightbox and I use that to correct and make edits on original drawings.

Thank you so much for the kind words.

Right now I am doing a long series of studies, and I am working on truly mastering my anatomy skills and construction techniques. I got my proportions more or less solid for the time being.

My studies are meant to gain a complete grasp of constructing the human figure accurately, and with skill. I want to be able to draw the figure in any angle, and in any pose I can imagine. Those are my goals.

In any event, keep an eye on my gallery, a massive update will happen this weekend.
